Maternity Fashion, Kalki Koechlin & Kareena Kapoor Khan | (Source: Instagram | @kalkikanmani, @therealkareeenakapoor)

Over the years when most people think of maternity fashion they think of loose baggy clothes or unattractive fits and prints that cover up the baby bump. For a long time, even fashion brands were manufacturing very unflattering clothes that made it quite difficult for expectant mothers to look stylish let alone halfway decent. Luckily maternity fashion has changed a lot in recent years especially thanks to famous celebrities and their stylists embracing the beauty of being pregnant and all that comes along with it.

No more are baby bumps and pregnancies hidden on the red carpet. It’s now something to show off and celebrate. Everything from fitted mini-dresses to thigh-high slights and dazzling gowns is now seen at events and red carpets on expecting celebrity moms. It’s all about being trendy and stylish. There are no restrictions on how to dress or even shying away from the public eye and going underground until giving birth. Many celebrities by example have finally forged the way for fashionable pregnancies being widely accepted. This has resulted in more and more fabulous maternity looks by women all over the world and we couldn’t be happier. We have rounded up our favourite looks from best-dressed, celebrity baby bumps that will give you some great style inspo if you’re a mum-to-be.

Keep scrolling to take a look at some of the best maternity looks celebrities have worn in recent years:

1. Kareena Kapoor Khan

When Kareena stepped out with her baby bump in 2016 she changed the game on how Bollywood looked at maternity fashion. Her fashion choices were always on point no matter what she wore, from embellished gowns to more casual looks and ethnic wear. Kareena’s style was the talk of the town with every fabulous outfit of hers being discussed and shared constantly. Bebo really had fun with her fashion and gave us some killer looks. However, one of my favourites was this glamourous, red off-shoulder gown by Gauri & Nainika, that she wore at the Lux Golden Rose Awards. Kareena ever the glowing mommy-to-be looked stunning with her natural rosy makeup and this elegant ensemble that complimented her figure.

2. Kalki Koechlin

While Kalki pleasantly surprised all of us with her announcement in 2019, her pregnancy style was definitely one worth noting. She gave us some fresh looks on her fashionable outings with some classic and some more interesting outfits. One really stand out look of Kalki’s was this fabulous kaftan from Sabyasachi with a colourful print. She really nails this almost boho-chic vibe look with a belt at the waist and tons of layered chunky silver jewellery. A kaftan with an interesting print is a great choice especially if you want to stay stylish without giving up comfort.

3. Neha Dhupia

What was awesome about Neha’s pregnancy was how she stayed true to her personal sense of style. From bold colours to chic dress, she continued to build on her effortless fashion choices. Neha looks gorgeous and super sophisticated in this fitted, printed midi, green dress and long matching jacket. Paired with some nude shoes she pulls off this look with grace and elegance with her baby bump on full display. This is a delightfully stylish outfit that can easily be replicated for special occasions.

4. Sameera Reddy

For her second pregnancy in 2019, Sameera showcased some lovely tailored looks. However, we were in love with how confident and carefree she was in her skin. Some of her more memorable fashion choices posted on her Instagram were the gorgeous images she took in her colourful swimwear and bikinis. She had a wonderful glow and didn’t have a care in the world as she flaunted her growing baby bump lounging by the pool or beach. Take a cue from Sameera and rock a cute or sexy swimsuit during your pregnancy.

5. Lisa Haydon

If you’ve followed Lisa’s career as a model long enough you know she has a great sense of style. During both her pregnancies she’s rocked her baby bump in bikinis, halter-neck dresses and chic dresses. Not afraid of showing some skin and breaking stereotypes, she really turned heads with her stylish maternity wear. Lisa also really rocks street-wear like a pro, like this super trendy look. Here, she keeps her look simple by rocking the activewear trend with bicycle shorts and combat boots along with a basic camisole and jacket. Functional and practical she also looks ready to kick some ass. You don’t want to mess with this mama.

6. Khloe Kardashian

If anyone follows the saying, if you’ve got it, flaunt it, it’s got to be the Kardashians. Khloe really served us some major looks during her pregnancy in 2018. All about over-the-top ensembles, she didn’t hide away in loose-fitted garments but instead opted for super fashionable and trendy ensembles every time she was seen out in public. Being super proud of her pregnancy and baby bump she rocked many fitted outfits. This crystal-encrusted Ralph Lauren dress was a mic-drop moment for her though. With statement earrings and a sleek top-knot, she truly gave us some show-stopping inspiration.

7. Katy Perry

You can never accuse Katy Perry’s of having a boring wardrobe. Her style has always been bold, fun and eccentric. Never afraid of taking risks, she has a love for bright colours and elaborate costumes. Katy who is currently expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom has brought out one top-notch outfit after another during her appearances. Some more romantic and some more form-fitted, she truly is blooming right now (pardon the pun). One of her more interesting maternity outfits to date was this layered purple look. In an appearance in Sydney (pre-lockdown), she was glowing in this lovely cut-out lavender dress with a long-sleeved, floral turtleneck underneath. The sheer turtleneck adds some coverage to the otherwise sexy dress that makes the outfit more interesting and so very Katy like. She proves you don’t have to stick to boring or standard fashion styles even when expecting.

Anu Aggarwal (Source: Instagram | @anusualanu)

Actor Anu Aggarwal, who shot to fame with Mahesh Bhatts Aashiqui in 1990, recently spoke about being an outsider in Bollywood. She opened about her share of struggles and how she could relate to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s battle.

And now, in a tête-à-tête with Pinkvilla, she has spoken about the existing casting couch in Bollywood. The actor revealed that she didn’t face anything major but a director once came to her house to talk about a role — but with a bottle of whiskey.

Here’s what she said—

One director, a top one, had come to my house citing he has a role for me. He came to my house and took out the whiskey bottle. It was in the afternoon hour, but mere dimag ki batti jal gayi. How can someone come to the house with a bottle of whiskey to tell the story? So I made some reason and had to politely ask him to leave. I told him off. That is what I am trying to say, women always have the choice.

Elaborating on it, she further added—

Even when I used to talk to girls earlier, and they would say this guy tried to hit on me and the whole thing about Bollywood, and the whole Me Too thing, and guys hitting on girls, I just feel guys will hit on girls. I have been getting hit at since I was 13 years old. I had no idea how to handle all this. The point is I feel eventually the girl is the boss unless a guy rapes you or something. Otherwise, the girl has to say yes for a guy to do anything with the girl.

Anu Aggarwal is now gearing up for a Netflix series on her life. I am definitely looking forward to that.

Imtiaz Ali, Rima Das, Onir and Kabir Khan (Source: Instagram | @imtiazaliofficial @rimadas13 @iamonir @kabirkhankk)

Filmmakers Imtiaz Ali, Rina Das, Onir and Kabir Khan have come together to construct a film on the subjects of race, disability, sexuality and gender. The filmmakers’ short films will be combined into one film which will then premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2021. The directors will collaborate with selected filmmaking teams from Victoria, Melbourne and will work on an allocated budget.

The director of IIFM Festival Director, Mitu Bhowmick said—

This exciting initiative gives Victorian screen practitioners a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with some of the world’s best filmmakers and also develop relationships with them. I am delighted and thrilled that IFFM has secured four of India’s most diverse voices of independent cinema for these workshops and the creation of four short films on the core values of IFFM – diversity and inclusivity.

Each of the selected teams will be allocated a budget to produce an original script. The directors will conduct workshops and develop the stories and supervise pre-production with the teams through zoom-call. The filmmakers will travel to Melbourne to shoot the films once the lockdown is lifted and international flights are resumed.

National Award winner Rima Das expressed—

It’s an honour to receive this invitation. It’s essential for filmmakers to examine the world around them from the prism of its socio-political context. The short film will allow us to bring in authentic lived-in stories that often get lost in popular culture.

Kabir Khan who helmed films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and upcoming film ’83’ looking forward to his experience said—

Celebration of our diversity is a dialogue that should be fostered in current times. In the post-pandemic world, being one with each other in a community should be the single most important takeaway. The virus has shown us the futility of everything else. I am excited at the opportunity presented by IFFM and looking forward to the experience.

Ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali who is known for his films like Jab We Met, Tamasha, Highway among others expressed—

The last few months have been full of life lessons for all of us. Viewing stories of identity in the context of the diverse society that we are all a part of is quintessential for us to chart our path ahead. I am looking forward to meeting a new set of people and understanding their life stories for the screen.

National Award winner, filmmaker Onir also said—

The role of a filmmaker I believe is to trigger a dialogue. The world we are living in calls for fresh discussions on inclusivity and diversity to reiterate strong value systems for our audiences. I am glad for the opportunity and hope it’s a step in the right direction.

Ananya Panday’s Neon Outfit Is Perfect For This Dull Weather

Ananya Panday | (Source: Instagram | @ananyapanday)

Ananya Panday‘s stylebook has a special place for show-stopping dresses. The actor experiments with them in a variety of ways, sometimes by picking outfits that feature OTT elements, some that have an interesting silhouette and other times by picking garments that are dipped in striking hues, especially neon colours. The star has favoured the neon trend multiple times—remember her off-shoulder, midi dress by AQ/AQ that she wore to the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards? Or her eye-blinding, neon pantsuit by Oh Polly she wore for the promotions of her feature Pati Patni Aur Woh. And, not to forget, when she went big and bold at Filmfare Awards 2020 in a Dylan Parientytulle number? Well, her penchant for neon hues is clearly established and around this time, she played dress-up at home and styled herself in yet another neon number that she teamed with a pair of red heels.

How Ananya Panday brightened up our week with her latest sartorial experiment:

Sadly, with quarantine being our new regime, dressing up for parties is a fond memory we all reminisce. Another is spotting our favourite stars strutting their way through the paps giving us new trends to look out for. Zoom call dressing is the new shiz and all, but sometimes, you just want to dress your best for no reason and do a mini feel-good photoshoot at home! And that’s what Ananya did, although, she claims that it was binging on Project Runway that inspired her to play dress-up at home. And must we say, she did a pretty fabulous job, didn’t she? Teaming neon with neon—the squared-neckline dress with those tangerine red platforms and accessorising it with long, chunky neckpieces featuring heart-shaped charms. Her fuss-free, party-ready look is certainly making you miss partying, even more, noh?

Given the location for her photoshoot—home—the actor’s beauty look was quite simple. She accentuated her look with just a set of glossy, pink lips. Her naturally pink cheeks served as her blush for the day (and every other day!)

What do you think of Ananya’s little sartorial experiment? Tell me in the comments below!

And don’t forget to follow @missmalinifashion on Instagram to never miss a style tip!

Shabana Azmi, Paresh Rawal Question The Government Guidelines Barring Artists Over 65 Years From Shooting

The state government recently announced the recommencement of film and television shoots. However, one of the regulations mentioned that actors and technicians above the age of 65 years will not be allowed in the shooting area. This has created an uproar in the industry. Last week, Hema Malini had sent a letter to the Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, requesting an amendment in the resolution. The veteran actor and politician gave examples of Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and herself claiming that they will be restricted from completing their previous projects.

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi who was to film Nikhil Advani’s Mughal declares the rule to be discriminatory.

According to a report by MidDay, Shabana Azmi said—

A small portion of Vikas Khanna’s untitled film has yet to be shot. What happens to these projects? Why should producers have to sign on younger artistes and make them sport grey hair? Why is this rule applied only to the film industry, and not politicians? Will they ensure that no leader above 65 will attend any political rally,” she questions, before pointing out that it affects the livelihoods of countless senior technicians. “They don’t run parallel businesses whereby they can make up their losses.

Actor Paresh Rawal too spoke his mind on this issue. He said, even though he understands that this decision has been made keeping in mind the safety of all. However, the 65-year-old actor feels that the implementation is impracticable. He said—

The sets should have the necessary safety measures in place, including sanitisation. So many doctors and nurses over 65 years of age are on the field every day. They are exposed to more severe conditions.

Anushka Sharma July Cover Vogue India | (Source: Instagram | @vogueindia)

The end of this quarantine is not nearly in sight and I’ve been curious about how magazines are still able to publish their cover shoots. However, I am beyond thrilled to see some fashion content in this draught. Anushka Sharma has always been a Bollywood actress in the limelight for her ground-breaking sartorial choices.

Anuskha latest shoot for the July cover of Vogue India was the summer plan we all deserved. And, while we couldn’t jet off on any beach vacations we get to vicariously enjoy the vibe through this stellar photoshoot. Photographed by New York-based photographer Billy Kidd and of course, Anaita Shroff Adajania at the helm of the shoot. This shoot was pulled off a few days before India went into lockdown. Billy Kidd took to Instagram to post his favourite image from the shoot and talked about how he thoroughly enjoyed working with Anushka Sharma, here’s what he said!

Sometimes you get your favourite picture on the cover, and sometimes you don’t. Unfortunately, this didn’t make it into the story, but is my favourite image of @anushkasharma for @vogueindia. We shot in Goa days before my family and I went into isolation. This woman was an incredible partner to collaborate with, up for anything and spending the ENTIRE day with us. Not many actors I can say the same for. Bravo!

Anushka Sharma on the July cover of Vogue India

On the cover photo, Anushka was styled in a black Hermès swimsuit and a black sheer shirt. The swimsuit featured a plunging V-neck and tassel detailing. Accessorised with bracelets from Isharya and Tohum Design and statement earrings from Hanut Singh. The whole look came together in tandem with the wondrous blue of the sky and water. Anushka clearly amplifies the scenic wonder of the shot. Tousled beach hair by Mike Desir and bronze tones across the face by  Daniel Bauer. The hair and makeup complemented the whole vibe perfectly and enhanced Anushka’s relaxed personality.

In this editorial, Anushka talks about her evolution and how peace of mind is of utmost importance to her. Sheree Gomes Gupta worded the cover story that has us pining for more. She further discussed how living in the moment brings her a sense of calm. Lockdown has helped her be more introspective and understanding of the meaning of life now more than ever. She reveals a little more about her relationship with Virat, they often travel to see each other just to squeeze in one meal together. It often looks like their on vacation but almost always one person is always working. It’s evident that she’s been enjoying her lockdown, downtime with hubby Virat Kholi. Can’t stop won’t stop shipping the two of them.

Scroll on to see the inside story from Vogue India‘s July cover story:

This sunset picture is just flooding me with memories of Goa. In this image, Anushka is styled in Johanna Ortiz and Isabel Marant.

This Dior watercolour jacket and matching crochet bralet is just all the feels of a sunset sky. Anushka’s smile just makes this image so happy and hopeful.

This look from Blumarine is every bit reminiscent of a mermaid, look at the subtle sheen on the trousers. And the aqua blue crop-top is the perfect colour for a beachy look.

This gorgeous over-sized shirt from Etro with bell-sleeves and the paisley print is a perfect mash-up for the Goan environment. The mix of orange, yellow, green and lavender all add to the breeziness of this look. Anushka Sharma seems to fit right into the energy and vibe of every shot effortlessly.

There wasn’t anything to not love about this shoot. The beach, the sand, the wind, the waves, it all came together to tell a seamless story of how much we miss nature when we can’t experience it anymore.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nushrratt Bharuccha

From all the news that we constantly consume I’ve noticed that a lot of people are refusing to wear masks. I’m not sure what the need to rebel against the idea is because they are designed to protect you. This disease could kill you or worse cripple you for the rest of your life. We’re a little beyond flattening the curve and now is the time to band together and stay home. Take time to slow down and enjoy this quarantine. And if you absolutely must step out then wearing a face mask is a must. Take a look at how Bollywood diligently wears a mask and also looks stylish while doing so. In case you were worried that wearing a mask would put a dampener on the way you dress. You couldn’t be more wrong because these B-town bombshells are nailing their masks with every look they sport.

Take a look at how these Bollywood celebrities have styled their mask:

1) Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan is a cool cat, no matter what she wears she just always looks turnt up. Just a basic, black, V-neck tee with a pair of beige joggers. She accessorised her look with a pair of black slides with gold, chain-link detailing her trusty animal print sunglasses.

Lockdown Style Tip: The best way to up the ante of an outfit during the day time is to wear oversized sunglasses. Also, a good way to conceal them puffy eyes.

Kareena Kapoor Khan wears a light blue mask

2) Vaani Kapoor

Vaani Kapoor seems to be prepping for her next movie called Bell Bottom with Akshay Kumar. Is it a coincidence that she was also spotted wearing bell-bottom jeans recently? I love me a nice pair of blue denim that fits like a dream. She paired her jeans with a long-sleeve, grey crop top with a deep V-neck. She accessorised her look with a pair of white sneakers and a Balenciaga Graffiti Papier A6 Zip Around black shoulder strap bag.

Lockdown Style Tip: Wear high-waist bell-bottom jeans to elongate your legs. To elevate a basic look, style your outfit with a funky bag. It could also just add a pop of colour to drown out a gloomy day.

Vaani Kapoor

3) Disha Patani

Disha Patani steps out to the vet in a pair of light blue skinny jeans that she paired effortlessly a beige, spaghetti tank top. She accessorised her look with a dainty gold necklace, an animal print bum bag and printed, red, chuck-taylors. She clipped her hair back and wore a pretty floral mask.

Lockdown Style Tip: Pair a light in tones look with a pop of colour with your shoes. You could also carry a bag with a print as Disha has.

4) Patralekha

Love Patralekha’s vibrant work-out look. She wore a hot-pink tee that she knotted on the side with a purple sports bra. She, however, off-set her look with black and white shorts and neon, green sneakers. I thought her colour pairing was an interesting choice. She finished out her look with oversized black, square sunglasses.

Lockdown Style Tip: Wear bright coloured work-out wear to add a happy disposition to your look

5) Nushrratt Bharuccha

Totally digging Nushrratt’s monochromatic, ecrú salwar suit. The petal neckline and subtle mirror work on the front of the kurta make it the perfect look to sport in the day. The palazzo pants and her aviator-style glasses make the look quite cool. What’s interesting about this kurta is the tie detailing that goes down the sides and ends with tassel detailing. Love the addition of the tan sling bag.

Lockdown Style Tip: Pair your monochrome salwar suit with a bright coloured face mask for an interesting look. You can add pops of colour to your look by experimenting with colours in the same colour family of your outfit.

Nushrratt Bharuccha in a yellow face mask

6) Nimrat Kaur

Nimrat’s denim dungarees are just adorable and they fit her like a glove. She paired her denim overalls with a black and white, Bretton stripe long-sleeved top. She accessorised her look with white sneakers and a black, quilted sling bag.

Lockdown Style Tip: You want your denim dungarees to be loose at the chest but fitted at the waist and hip. Pair your look with a fitted top to create a seamless finish.

7) Huma Qureshi

Want to nail an all-black look? Pull a leaf out of Huma’s stylebook. She wears a slub black tee, with a black sports bra and high-waist black tights. Style your gym look with a black, Gucci bum bag and a pair of slip-on sneakers. Braid your hair to keep all the hair away from your face.

Lockdown Style Tip: Pair your all-black look with black accessories to elevate the sharpness of your look.

Malaika Arora wears a fawn, kimono dress. This flirty and beachy dress features a V-neck dress with tiny white pom-pom along the neckline. The actor made her debut in 2009 with ‘Gilli’, a Kannada film. Also, fun fact: Did you know that she signed up for the film only to earn a little extra pocket money? Rakul made her debut in the Bollywood industry with Divya Khosla Kumar‘s Yaariyaan. And she went on to feature in films like Aiyaary, Shimla Mirchi, De De Pyaar De among others. So when Malini’s Girl Tribe announced the Virtual Happy Hour with Rakul, it got me all excited.

Our boss lady, Malini Agarwal came up with an idea of doing a Virtual Happy Hour for Malini’s Girl Tribe to ward our quarantine blues away. This session with Rakul was all about that, where a few members of the tribe got to spend a lovely evening with her virtually over conversation and fun games. The event kicked off with a fun Q&A where the tribe members got to ask the star their questions.

Rakul spoke about the high and lows in her career and how she coped with failures. When one of the members asked the actor about how she keeps herself motivated and uplifted during her lows, she replied saying, “If you don’t have the lows, you will never appreciate the highs. The biggest problem that we face in the country is that people don’t really come out and talk. They think about what will others think. I have been replaced from films and there are times when you expect a film that you are going to get, but you don’t get it. You have those highs and lows.”

The conversation was followed by a fun ‘How well do you know Rakul?’ quiz and concluded with her uplifting message for the Girl Tribe.

Check out the super fun Happy Hour session here:

Some content creators really go that extra mile to entertain us and keep us engaged, right? Especially during this lockdown, comedy creators have taken their content to the next level with relatable, funny and snackable content. One such example is YouTuberNikunj Lotia a.k.a Be YouNick! He’s been creating some fab videos that are leaving us in splits! But what he did in his Video Call Series IGTV today, really made us ROTFL. He collaborated with none other than the queen of grace and elegance, Madhuri Dixit! Scroll for all the deets

About Nick

With over 7.5 million followers on social media, YouTuber Be YouNick has proudly put his town Dombivali on the map, which he refers to as the Republic of Dombivali, a name that has caught on with his fans too! His new series called Balcony Blues has also been received very well by his audience where he can be seen crooning to nostalgic numbers on his balcony. That’s because his music is entertaining everyone who’s struggling to cope with the lockdown.

BeYouNick, Madhuri Dixit (Source: BeYouNick)

About the collaboration

Nick had the honour of being the only Indian comedy creator to have collaborated with the sensational Madhuri Dixit. Come to think of it, she totally Miyagi’d Nick in the super funny IGTV he uploaded today. In the video, he asks for Madhuri’s help in learning how to shake a leg so he could impress a certain “someone” at a wedding. And so, she really tries to teach him her signature ‘Mai ni mai‘ hook step from the iconic movie, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. To be fair, Nick really tries hard to learn it, but after many attempts, fails. Eventually, after being extremely patient with Nick, she demonstrates how he can act on stage before the Sangeet begins and performs the hook step.

But in the end, there’s a hilarious twist! We don’t wanna reveal the climax of the video to you so, we’ll let Nick do it. Check out the video below!

When we asked him how he felt about this once-in-a-lifetime collab he said,

Back in the day, I sneezed and someone said, Bless You! That came true today! Khushi Ne Humari Humein…Maar Dala 🥰

Apart from Madhuri, Nick has also collaborated with Arjun Kapoor, Sunny Leone, Nargis Fakhri, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Hardik Pandya and several others recently. How cool is that?

We thought this video, in particular, was epic, much like Nick’s efforts to learn the dance. Who else loved Nick’s dance moves in the video? Tell us in the comments below!

Actor Richa Chadha Shoots A Sci-Fi Film At Home

The coronavirus induced lockdown has not only put everybody on house-arrest but has also made people do things that they wouldn’t otherwise. Like actor Richa Chadha, who shot for a science-fiction film at home. Yes, you heard it right! She, and the other actors in the film were assisted by director-writer Arati Kadav on lighting, camera angles and scene compositions as they shot with their phones.

The director, talking to Mumbai Mirror said—

The plight of the migrants reminded me of how dinosaurs had been wiped off within seconds of the Big Bang even while other species survived.

The film, titled 55Km/Sec, is a science-fiction film which imagines another apocalypse brought by a speeding meteor and narrates the story through the eyes of a woman who is in love.

The team coordinated through video calls on a daily basis, with the director making extensive storyboards to show how she wanted the scenes to look like.

When Richa was approached by the director to play the protagonist, she apparently didn’t give it a second thought. She was quoted as saying,“We are creative people, how long will we sit without practising our primary skills?”. The actor did her own makeup and styling, and the crew members were her family and roomies.

Richa revealed that it was difficult for her to perform a few emotional scenes as her co-actor, Mrinal Dutt was not physically present there. But the actor is happy that they were able to create something thought-provoking and beautiful in these trying times.

I for sure cannot wait to catch this film.

Alaya F Makes A Case For Neutral Colours And We’re On Board

Alaya F‘s dressing game can be described in one word—edgy. She carries herself effortlessly in anything she dons. Be it a heavy lehenga, a dainty kurta set or a hot-shorts and t-shirt combo, she does so with ease and elegance. Furthermore, her off-duty dressing sense is as good as her on-duty one—always chic and never boring! And through all of her outfits, she ensures that comfort comes first, then comes fashion. She’s nailed her at-home style game too; oscillating between formal shirts to gym-wear to traditional-wear. Around this time, the actor was spotted running errands in Mumbai for which she stepped out in a neutral coloured outfit. A breezy, brown overcoat worn with a cropped, black tube-top and beige trousers, making a strong case for earthy tones.

We love Alaya’s sartorial risk of teaming her outfit with white sneakers during the monsoons!

For her recent outing in the suburbs, Alaya’s failproof style picks were: a jet black, rib-knit tube-top that she wore with a pair of beige trousers cuffed neatly at the hems. The utilitarian pants came with two large pockets—the one functional element all women die for! She picked a bronze coat with lapel collars to wear as a cover-up. The folded and buttoned sleeves of the overcoat added that stylish touch to her outfit!

Alaya Furniturewala

Keeping her look colour-coordinated, the star took her pricey, brown Louis Vuitton tote bag for a spin. The red sling of the bag was a much-needed burst of colour in her neutral-themed outfit. Further sticking to the nude colour-scheme but taking a style risk (considering the monsoons), Alaya wore chunky, white sneakers from Fila to complete her look. However, here’s how she broke the monotony of the earthy-tone quest she had going—with her white face mask that came with a colourful floral print.

Alaya Furniturewala

We absolutely love how Alaya played around with nude colours! Do you like her look as much as we do? Tell us in the comments below!

Kriti Sanon Looks Pretty Peachy In This Co-Ord Set

Kriti Sanon

Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput passed away I’ve gained this newfound admiration for Kriti Sanon. I felt really sorry for how people were bullying her into putting up a post about his passing. And the way she addressed the trolls and bullies really made me give her several virtual claps. It was about time that someone stood up and spoke for what is right. The actress was also last spotted at SSR’s last rights in Mumbai and has since then been quarantining with her family. Ever since then, Kriti made her first appearance last afternoon in the city with a visit to the salon. Now that life in Mumbai seems to be resuming, people and celebrities alike are able to step out for more than groceries. Thank god for life slowly resuming because I have been missing these gorgeous Bollywood beauties and all their fashion statements.

Kriti’s choice of pastel colours are perfect to not only drive away those Monday blues but also the gloom and doom that surrounds us during the monsoons:

Kriti Sanon

For her afternoon outing to the salon, Kriti was spotted in a co-ord set—a pair of skin fit peach shorts with a matching oversized denim jacket. She off-set her look with a white tank top, a much-needed break to balance out the colours. She accessorised her look with an under the arm, black handbag and a pair of white sneakers. Thankfully, rainy weather allows for layers and it’s also the perfect time to reach for those light jackets. A pastel look like hers is perfect to drive away the gloom on a rainy day. Monsoons are also the perfect time to step out in shorts because the longer your pants, the longer they take to dry off. This would apply if you do end up getting drenched in the rain.

Kriti Sanon

Let me not forget to make a special mention to Kriti’s pretty grey face-mask. Please make sure to wear a face mask when you step out during this pandemic. For her beauty, she obviously stepped out with freshly blow-dried hair. And given that we can’t really see beyond people’s eyes, she skipped out on doing her make-up. So, if you’re on the lookout for a fuss-free but fun look to pull off during this quarantine and the monsoon then definitely pull a leaf out of Kriti’s book.

There has been a lot of conversation around Twitter regarding the Bollywood industry, the camps, nepotism in the past few days. Director Anubhav Sinha — the one behind critically acclaimed films like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad — has been one such personality who has been vocal about these topics for most part. But just last night, he took to his Twitter and said that he had had enough and that he is ‘resigning from Bollywood’.

The director tweeted:

Post this, directors Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta joined in the conversation to back his statement. While Hansal Mehta said that it ‘never existed’ according to him, Sudhir Mishra asked ‘What’s Bollywood?’. He says that he was inspired to make films because of legends like Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor Shekhar Kapur, Gulzar, Javed Akhtar among others, and that’s where he’ll always stand.

Check out their tweets:

Replying to Sudhir Mishra’s tweet, Anubhav said that he is glad two people are out now, and states that he will also continue to make films in the Hindi film industry.

Here’s what he said:

Reflecting upon why he became a part of  Bollywood, Anubhav says he doesn’t know why, and that he just wanted to make good films. But he says he has started to figure out why now.

Kareena Kapoor Khan (Source: Instagram | @rheakapoor, @tanghavri)

When you think about fashion-forward trendsetters in Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name is always at the top of the list. While her style has made a major evolution since her first debut almost two decades ago. She has come a long way in her fashion journey, making her own significant place in the industry. Bebo, as she is affectionally called, is one of the few A-list actresses whose style quotient is envied by many and highly influences her fans and followers.  A pro in the fashion game, Kareena is always rocking the latest trends and pulling off just about any look. From gorgeous saris to couture gowns she has mastered them all.

Whether it’s more casual looks or glamourous red carpet fashion, she always nails them, looking effortlessly chic in the process. While Kareena has never been afraid to dazzle us with some bolder looks one key distinction would be her soft spot for classic styles and silhouettes, which is apparent even in ethnic wear. With the help of top celeb stylists and makeup artists, each ensemble or look is selected with utmost care. Not to mention she always looks fresh and perfectly put-together no matter what. In my opinion, she’s one of those stars that can make even a potato sack look fabulous. Always making headlines with her amazing sartorial fashion choices in recent years, Kareena has rarely missed the mark.

So, since we’re missing out on the possible super glam red-carpet looks during the lockdown, we’ve decided to list some of our more recent favourite looks of Kareena Kapoor from the past few months.

Keep scrolling to check out our favourite looks of Kareena Kapoor Khan pre-lockdown:

1. Custom saree

Kareena absolutely stuns in this extraordinary saree by designer label Picchika. This custom hand-painted saree boldly has her nickname Bebo splashed all across it in a pastel pink shade and cursive font. Always knocking it out of the park with her ethnic looks, this powder-blue organza saree is no different. Paired with a matching one-shoulder bustier, this outfit also contained some lovely details in the print, like hand-painted golden flowers, watercolour leaves and a pink parrot.  She opts for minimal accessories, choosing only to wear earrings by Sunita Kapoor. Let’s not forget her dewy makeup and romantic braid that completed this soft delicate look perfectly.

2. Neon colour-blocking

Take a cue from Bebo on how to colour block like a pro! Kareena rocked this outfit for an appearance on the sets of What Women Want. Never shying away from statement looks, this vibrant outfit definitely makes sure all eyes are on her. The sky blue, one-shoulder top and neon green pencil skirt was cleverly paired with some trendy clear strappy heels. This gives her a lift while simultaneously letting the outfit speak for itself. Don’t forget some of the finer details like the bright. orange pipping detail on her figure-hugging blouse, matching blue nails and understated jewellery that makes all the difference in making her overall look stand out.

3. Denim on denim

Bebo nails the denim on denim trend with this outfit. She made sure her outfit stood out with a mixture of indigo hues and print. Here she paired a dark blue, corset-style waistcoat with bleach splattered, light blue jeans that give a tie-dye effect. Adding to the playfulness, she layers delicate gold necklaces and a pair of strappy neon sandals. Paired with beachy waves and bronzy cheekbones, her entire look from head-to-toe is right on-trend with a fashionable twist.

4. Sparkling in silver

This dress really made us go va-va-voom! Kareena dazzles this silver sequin maxi gown by Michael Costello. She looked super sexy in the gown which has a deep V neckline, thigh-high slit, backless cut and some batwing sleeves. Sexy yet elegant, her makeup does not disappoint either. It really enhances the overall look rather than taking it away in this case. Metallic smoky eyes, nude lips, dewy skin, along with a slicked-back bun and topped off with some matching strappy sandals; I’m sure all eyes were on her as she shone bright all night long.  And if you thought sequins couldn’t be stylish, this has got to change your mind!

5. Lavender dreams

Pastel colours seemed to be having a moment and Kareena wasn’t to be left behind. She mesmerises in this light lavender Yousef Al Jami gown for the finale for Dance India Dance. The dreamy off-shoulder dress features ruffled sleeve,s plus a ruffled fishtail bottom with a slit that adds some drama to this romantic look. She accessorises this couture look with the iconic Bulgari serpent necklace and muted glam makeup. Elegant and striking, she definitely dresses to kill in this number.

6. Classic monochrome

Some classic combos never go out of style and Kareena proves this in the super sleek look she wore ahead of the JIO MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Her entire ensemble, from New York designer Judy Zhan, consists of a white silk full-sleeved blouse with a plunging neckline and black, high-waisted trousers with an interesting waistband. This fabulously tailored looked was paired with some delicate layered jewellery and understated makeup. Kareena looks super sophisticated and refined in this ensemble. A refreshing departure from the usual gowns or cocktail dresses reserved for these occasions.

Honestly, we look forward to the day when the celebs return to the red carpet once again gracing us with some killer looks. And we’re sure Kareena will not disappoint!

Aditya Roy Kapur

We saw Aditya Roy Kapur last on-screen in Malang a romantic action thriller film starring Disha Patani, Kunal Khemu and Anil Kapoor. The character he played was quite the wanderer and traveller and sometimes I wonder if he has more in common with this character because he surely emulates the character style pretty darn well. Aditya is quite the up and comer and keeps getting better with each movie he does. So, it’s safe to say that along with his desirable looks he’s also quite a versatile actor. Recently, the actor was spotted in Mumbai for his dubbing sessions for his upcoming film, titled Ludo. Props to him for wearing his mask diligently and I can’t wait to see more of him and from him.

Love how Aditya Roy Kapur plays with blue tones through this look, scroll on to see how:

Aditya steps out in a pair of grey cargo pants that he paired very well with a light, linen shirt in blue. The shirt featured earthy brown buttons and white, handprints all over. I really love how perfect this look is for the summer. Gentleman, take note because the utilitarian trend is very much back for ya’ll as well. Want to know how to style cargo pants? Take a cue from Aditya Roy Kapur, of course. And pay attention to the hem of your pants, you want them to sit flush like his to get that clean finish. Don’t you also love his lockdown hair? I am are totally digging his Fro. Wish more men experimented with their hair this way. My only peeve with his look is those chappals, I seriously think he of all people could have done better.

Aditya Roy Kapur

Now, Aditya looks like he’s taking himself a little more seriously in this semi-casual look. Don’t get me wrong I loved his earlier more relaxed look too, but I just like my men more put-together. He layers his basic white tee with a navy, linen shirt with sleeves rolled up, the only way to way a shirt in Mumbai’s heat truthfully. Aditya Roy Kapur (I just love saying his whole name) paired his look with black, ripped jeans and grey and black sneakers. This time he decided to tame his Fro with a black cap. Kinda like the idea of seeing a cap on someone for a change, don’t ya’ll agree?

Here’s How Kriti Sanon Styled Her Zebra-Printed Top

Kriti Sanon

Lockdown has surely made trips to grocery stores, to work meetings or just salon sessions a lot more exciting. The few couple hours to wear something other than slouchy pants and apply some makeup; who would’ve thought we’d get fed up of pyjamas and no makeup some day? Take, for instance, Bollywood celebrities that have been spotted out and about—some going for a run, some getting haircuts or some heading for quick work meetings. And everyone’s stepping out in their sartorial best! Speaking of, we spotted the Luka Chuppi actress Kriti Sanon twice this week. First when she went to pamper herself at a salon alongside her mother in a millennial pink outfit. And most recently, when she took a work trip for which her uniform was casual-chic. Ripped jeans, an animal printed blouse and black kicks. Scroll ahead to check out her outfit!

A breakdown of Kriti Sanon’s outfit:

Kriti’s latest OOTD gives a nod to the good old’ animal print. Leaning towards a more relaxed look, the actress opted for an olive green, cropped blouse with a frilly hemline. The square-necklined blouse came in a subtle zebra print in black and the puffy sleeves added a feminine touch to the top. Teaming her blouse with a pair of straight-cut, ripped jeans added a grunge vibe to the look. While she wasn’t wearing it at the time, the star was seen carrying a military-printed jacket which otherwise would’ve been a good lesson on clashing prints!

Kriti Sanon

In the accessory department, Kriti rounded off her look with a black fanny pack that she wore diagonally across her chest. Black running kicks with a white outsole were her picks in the footwear category. And the need-of-the-hour accessory—a face mask in a quirky print also was part of her outfit. Freshly blow-dried locks with no visible makeup was her beauty look.

Kriti Sanon

Malaika Arora Aces Lockdown Loungewear With This Look

Malaika Arora

I think all of my intro’s feature the fact that I am a huge fan of Malaika Arora‘s style. I don’t know the woman just has it and she gets it. Everything she wears she carries off so effortlessly and makes it look like the next trend everyone needs to hop on. Well, given this pandemic and everyone having to be home sorta gave rise to loungewear. The concept is simple, whatever you would normally wear to lounge around in at home actually turned into a trend. Everyone wanted to up the kind of jammies they were wearing at home. Everyone wanted to share pictures on their Instagram proving that had aced this trend. And I was loving all it while casually sitting around my house in night clothes with holes with them. I like the extra ventilation ok, don’t judge. So, anyway, Malika was recently spotted out and about in Mumbai. Thank god because I terribly miss celebrity spotting and seeing what they’re wearing. Scroll on for more deets on her look.

Doesn’t Malaika Arora look so well put-together in this black and grey loungewear look:

Ever seen anyone make a basic, black spaghetti-strap tank top look so good? And, damn it would be so hard not to mention how fit she’s looking. Malaika paired her top with grey joggers with an elasticated waist and hem. She accessorised her look with black and fluorescent orange sneakers and a beige sling bag. Malaika made sure she stepped out with her main and most important accessory—a green face mask.

Malaika Arora

Obviously, with a face mask, no one feels the need to wear makeup anymore. But Malaika isn’t Malaika if she doesn’t step out with her flawlessly finished off eyebrows. I love the middle-parted hair, pulled back into a nice low bun, it really takes this look to the next level. Wish I could pull off such a clean bun, ever heard of bun envy because I sure as hell have it.
